If you’re on the lookout for a used SUV, there are many different options available. From the number of seats to the many entertainment features to the amount of storage, it can be overwhelming to decide which SUV is right for you. 1. How It Drives
If you’ve never driven an SUV before, you need to know that it drives quite differently from a sedan. It has a larger frame and it sits higher, which for some, makes it easier to drive. For others, it can be a bit more difficult, especially if you’re used to driving a smaller vehicle. Many people get used to handling an SUV and usually like the way it handles better, too.
2. More Visibility
Because a sport-utility vehicle sits higher, as the driver, you have a wider view of the road. When you’re test-driving an SUV, make sure there are no blind spots or obstructions. While an elevated vehicle means a better perspective of the road ahead of you, it also means there are more vehicles to look around when parking or driving on a busy highway.
3. Roomy & Comfortable
Something that can’t be argued is the space and comfort an SUV offers. Certain makes and models have more room in both the driver’s seats and passenger areas than others. Be sure to check out the space in all seats of the SUV you’re looking to purchase. You want to make sure your passengers are as comfortable as you.
4. Plenty of Storage
If you have kids in sports, drive a carpool, or haul items back and forth for work, then a used SUV may be exactly what you need. A sport-utility vehicle usually has at least seven seats, sometimes eight. Plus, there’s plenty of room in the back to load up equipment, boxes, or any other bulky or cumbersome items.
5. Parking Ability
A problem you may have with an SUV if you’ve never driven one is learning how to park. If you’re uneasy parking such a large vehicle, you may want to practice parking with a friend or family member’s SUV before purchasing one.
